SPOKANE, Wash., Sept. 15, 2026 — Approximately 738 Avista electric customers in Chewelah and the surrounding area will experience a planned power outage beginning at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30. Power is expected to be restored by 10:00 p.m.

All affected customers will be notified in advance. No road closures are expected during the time of the outage.

During this time, Avista crews will be performing maintenance and upgrades to electric equipment in the area. These updates are part of Avista's ongoing efforts to enhance the safety and reliability of its infrastructure.
