Vice President, Growth, Innovation and Strategy
Alicia Gibbs joined Avista in 2009, following her work at Honeywell Electronic Materials. She began in operational and supply chain roles before moving into leadership in 2014, holding positions across process improvement, customer service and electric operations.
In 2020, Alicia became Director of Shared Services, later serving as Director of Natural Gas and Director of Strategy and Innovation before being named Vice President of Growth, Innovation and Strategy. These diverse roles have given her a broad perspective on the opportunities and challenges facing utilities today. In a changing energy landscape, she leads enterprise strategy, innovation and growth initiatives that help Avista anticipate future challenges, capture new opportunities and create long-term value for customers, communities and shareholders. Throughout her career at Avista, Alicia has advanced strategic initiatives, improved organizational effectiveness and helped the company navigate change and opportunity.
Alicia earned a Bachelor of Science in Production and Operations Management and Business Marketing from the University of Idaho and is expected to complete a Master of Business Administration from the University of Idaho in fall 2026. She has also completed leadership programs through Harvard Business School, Gonzaga University, the Western Energy Institute and the Center for Creative Leadership.
Alicia serves on the Board of Directors for Avista Credit Union and the Northwest Gas Association.
